By now everybody’s quite familiar with Apple’s “attenagate” regarding the poorly configured design that resulted in dropped calls if a person held the phone with their left hand.
“When your finger or hand touches a spot on the phone’s lower left side–an easy thing, especially for lefties–the signal can significantly degrade enough to cause you to lose your connection altogether if you’re in an area with a weak signal,” wrote Consumer Reports.
Well now, with Verizon working to roll out an iPhone on its own network, Verizon execs are apparently taking extra precautions to make sure it avoids similar problems.
According to an unnamed source Verizon’s iPhone will have an internal antenna as well as a “new, more rugged exterior.”
It will also be much larger than the iPhone 4, perhaps as large as the Droid 2, and will have a faster processor as well.
