Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha has already confirmed that two new Motorola Droid Android OS smartphones were headed to Verizon sometime this fall, and now, according to leaked screenshots from a Verizon employee, they’re showing up in Verizon’s internal database.
“One of our tipsters just sent over this screenie from Verizon’s inventory system which shows the Droid 2 (A955) alive and well,” says Droid Life. “So what does this mean? That it could be hitting stores sooner than we had initially expected.”
The Droid Extreme phone will reportedly feature a 4.1- or 4.3-inch touchscreen along with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and 720MHz or faster TI OMAP processor. An 8MP camera is also expected, and Android 2.2 may ship with the device. The Droid Shadow will be a touchscreen-only model.
The Droid Xtreme will have 16GB of internal memory while the Droid Shadow will only have 2GB of internal memory
According to Jha the phones are expected to be released sometime later next month.
